Hawks Close out Conference with Win; Maryansky Sets School Record

NEW PALTZ, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team defeated the visiting Red Dragons from Oneonta 7-2 Monday evening.  Sophomore Ingrid Maryansky set the all-time wins in a season with 13.

The Hawks jumped out to an early lead after winning two of the three double matches.  The team of Stephanie Schara and Lindsey Garyn won the first doubles and Montana Wilson and Kayla DiPaulo won the second doubles.

Results:

1st doubles: Schara/Garyn (NP) def. Emily Shannon/Katie Wlodarczyk (O) 8-4

2nd doubles: Wilson/DiPaulo (NP) def. Carly Smith/Carly Fried (O) 8-0

3rd doubles: Jennifer Kraham/Elizabeth Flamman (O) def. Lyndsey Lovinger/Kerri Serkes (NP) 8-4

In the singles, Ingrid Maryansky moved to 13-0 on the season with her win over Danielle Browarski.   Lindsey Garyn picked up her 12th win of the season and Montana Wilson recorded her 10th win.

1st singles: Schara (NP) def. Kraham (O) 3-6, 7-6 (9-7), 10-2

2nd singles: Wilson (NP) def. Smith (O) 6-4, 6-1

3rd singles: Garyn (NP) def. Shannon (O) 6-2, 6-1

4th singles: DiPaulo (NP) def. Flamman (O) 6-3, 6-1

5th singles: Maryansky (NP) def. Browarski (O) 2-6, 6-4, 6-4

6th singles: Wlodarczyk (O) def. Esposito (NP) 6-0, 6-4

The Red Dragons fall to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the SUNYAC.

The Hawks improve to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the SUNYAC.  New Paltz returns to the court on Wednesday against cross town rival Vassar at 3:30 p.m. on the campus of Vassar College.
