Geneseo Scores Two Goals Late For Victory

GENESEO, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team could not hold onto the lead as the Blue Knights of Geneseo netted two goals in the final 19 minutes for the victory.

The Hawks scored the first goal of the game when Samantha Abravanel came in on a break away in the 66th minute for her fourth goal of the season.

Geneseo got the equalizer in the 72nd minute when Bella Masotti found the back of the net six yards out.   Katie Price netted the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute to give the Blue Knights the victory.

Katie Clerkin recorded the win in net, saving one shot.  Geneseo improves to 6-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the SUNYAC.

Stephanie Vega recorded the loss in net, saving nine shots as New Paltz falls to 3-6-3 overall and 0-4-1 in the SUNYAC.  The Hawks return to the field on Friday against Potsdam at 4 p.m. on the campus of SUNY Potsdam.
