BETHLEHEM, PA- The SUNY New Paltz men’s and women’s cross country team raced in the Paul Short Invite today at Lehigh University. The race is split up into three categories; Gold, Brown and White.
The women raced in the Brown division and finished 34th out of 39 teams. Danielle Harmon set a school record with a 23:25 time in the 6k. Lisa Cassaro finished with a time of 24:07, Nikki McCarthy finished at 24:43, Nichole Wischoff finished at 24:51 and Sara Wenger finished at 25:37 to round out the top five times for New Paltz.
The men raced in the White division and finished 19th out of 29 teams. Joe Gentsch led the men’s team with an eighth place finish with a personal best of 26:18 in the 8k. His time placed him second all-time at New Paltz in the 8k race.
The teams next race will be October 17th at the Albany Invite.
