Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Day One of NYU Tournament

The women’s volleyball team began play at the NYU Tournament this evening and went 1-1.
The Hawks fell to #15 Wisconsin-Whitewater 3-0 (16-25, 22-25, 24-26). Junior Brittany Colye led the attack with five kills and Stephanie Skrobach added four kills. Stephanie Bova handed out 22 assists.
New Paltz came back to defeat RIT 3-2 (20-25, 21-25, 25-13, 25-18, 15-6) in the nightcap. Coyle finished with 12 kills and four blocks and Skrobach registered 10 kills, seven digs and four blocks. First year Melinda DiGiovanna tallied 11 kills and classmate Tara Annunziata totaled six blocks. Bova dished out 51 assists.
The Hawks advance to 18-3 on the season and return to action tomorrow against Connecticut College at 10am and NYU at 2pm.
