New Paltz volleyball falls in both matches Saturday in the NYU Tournament

NEW YORK, NY- The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team fell in both matches Saturday morning and afternoon in the New York University Tournament.

The Hawks fell to Connecticut College in four games in the morning by the scores of: 19-25, 22-25, 25-23, 22-25. The Hawks then faced off against New York University and fell in three games by the score of: 17-25, 23-25, 24-26.

The Hawks were led by Brittany Coyle (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) with 19 kills on the day. Stephanie Bova (Central Square, NY/Central Square) had 37 assists and Nicole Mercadante (Baldwinsville, NY/ C.W. Baker) chipped in with 33 assists on the day.

The Hawks fall to 18-5 overall and 4-0 in SUNYAC competition.

The Hawks finished the tournament with a 1-3 record and look to rebound in the SUNYAC Pool-Play next weekend in Plattsburgh.
