Women’s Tennis Finishes Second at SUNYACs; Lim and Serkes Individual Champions

The women’s tennis team completed play at the 2008 SUNYAC championships where they finished second, to team champion Geneseo.
Senior Dana Lim defended her first singles title as she defeated Tiarra Garrow (Oswego) 7-5, 4-6, 6-2. Lim is a three time first singles SUNYAC Champion (06, 07 and 08) and she won the second singles title in 2005. Junior Kerri Serkes won the fifth singles flight with a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Carly Fried of Oneonta.
Sophomore Stephanie Schara lost to Vivian Cheung of Geneseo 6-4, 6-2 in second singles and Ingrid Maryansky lost to Anna Lehet of Geneseo 6-0, 6-3 in the fourth singles final.
In the third doubles flight, Serkes and Calder Mills-Lexvold lost to Melissa Baker and Lauren Johnson of Geneseo 6-0, 6-2.
