Volleyball Goes 2-0 on Day One of SUNYAC Pool Play

The women’s volleyball team traveled to Potsdam this afternoon for the first round of SUNYAC Pool Play posted a 2-0 record on day one. The Hawks started play with a 3-0 win over Oneonta (25-13, 25-19, 25-13). Senior Samantha Prudente led the attack with nine kills and seven digs. Brittany Coyle and Melinda DiGiovanna each chipped in with six kills, while DiGiovann added seven kills. Coyle registered two blocks and Dana Kindelmann added three blocks. Stephanie Bova handed out 32 assists and eight digs.
New Paltz defeated Potsdam 3-1 (26-24, 15-25, 29-27, 25-10) in the nightcap. Coyle paced the offense with 14 kills and six blocks. DiGiovanna finished with 11 kills and Lauren Hogue recorded eight kills and six blocks. Bova dished out 30 assists and 15 digs and Priska Wilson totaled 24 digs.
The Hawks improve their overall record to 11-0 and will return to action tomorrow when they face Plattsburgh at 12pm and Cortland at 2pm.
