Volleyball Sweeps Plattsburgh and Cortland in Pool Play

The women’s volleyball team continued play in the first round of the SUNYAC Pool Play today and swept Plattsburgh 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-17) and Cortland 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 26-24). The Hawks remain undefeated on the season at 13-0 overall and 4-0 in SUNYAC.

First year Tara Annunziata led the attack against Plattsburgh with eight kills and four blocks. Brittany Coyle finished with seven kills and Samantha Prudente added five kills. Stephanie Bova handed out 26 assists.

Prudente led the offense against Cortland with 12 kills on zero errors and 20 attempts. Melinda DiGiovanna and Lauren Hogue finished with seven kills on zero errors each on 18 and 14 attempts, respectively. DioGiovanna added 12 digs and Annunziata registered five blocks. Bova dished out 30 assists and 10 digs.

New Paltz returns to action on Wednesday September 24th when they host Vassar at 7pm.
