The women’s volleyball team hosted the United States Merchant Marine Academy Tuesday evening and swept the Mariners 3-0 (25-4, 25-11, 25-19). The Hawks improve to 9-0 on the season.
Junior Amanda Kopp (Massapequa) led the attack with six kills on ten attempts and seven digs. Samantha Prudente (Huntington Station/Walt Whitman) chipped in with four kills and three other players each had three kills. Stephanie Skrobach (Webster/Webster Schroeder) tallied seven digs, Kelsey Garmendia (Pine Bush) dished out 13 assists and Dana Kindelmann (Nesconset/Sachem North) totaled five blocks. The Hawks combined for 11 service aces.
New Paltz returns to action this Friday and Saturday when they travel to Potsdam for the first SUNYAC Pool Play.
