Katie Becofsky Named District Academic All-American

NEW PALTZ, NY — Senior setter Katie Becofsky (Altamont/Schalmont) was named to the College Division Women’s Volleyball District I All-Academic first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Becofsky carries a 3.94 grade point average in psychology and communication, is a three-time member of the SUNYAC All-Academic team and two-time member of the SUNYAC Commissioner’s List.
On the court she led the Hawks to a 27-12 record an her way to earning the SUNYAC East Division Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Becofsky holds the school record in career assists with 4,434 and broke the single season record for assists in 2007 with 1,264.
As a first team selection, Becofsky will now be put forward to the national ballot.
