Potter lead Hawks to Final Win of the Season

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz baseball hosted Vassar this afternoon in their final game of the season and defeated the Brewers, 3-1. With the win the complete their season 16-22.
New Paltz lost to Vassar last week, 9-0, but this week was different story. The Brewers broke out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning on a triple to left center that was immediately followed by an RBI single to left field. School Logot things started for New Paltz. Senior George Perry singled to advance all runners and load the bases. Jesse Marsh hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Helf. Lopez scored a second base steal by Perry.
The Hawks tacked on their final run of the game in the eighth inning. Kevin Paino tripled to left field and was brought home on an RBI single to center field by John DeKams.
Tyler Terlecky had three of New Paltz’ nine hits. DeKams had two for the Hawks. Zachary Potter tossed a complete, nine-inning six hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts.
