2007 Men’s Volleyball Season Recap

NEW PALTZ, NY — In 2007, the men’s volleyball team posted a 22-10 overall record and finished 12-2 in the NECVA-metro division. The Hawks earned the sixth seed in the NECVA tournament and defeated #11 Hunter 3-0 (30-23, 30-18, 30-25) in the first round before being eliminated by #3 Eastern Mennonite 3-0 (30-21, 30-24, 30-24).
Middle hitter, Christopher Holden was named the NECVA Rookie of the Year and to the First Team All-NECVA. Holden finished the season with 303 kills on 577 attempts for an attack percentage of .354 with 157 blocks. Senior Joshua Spiro totaled 284 kills and 125 blocks, while classmate Jeff Lee finished with 303 kills and 184 digs. Sophomore Matt Weingarten dished out 1,119 assists and Pedro Medina collected 303 digs.
