NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team defeated Russell Sage this afternoon at Alumni Field 2-0.
It was the last home contest for seniors and captains Stephanie DeRobertis (Newburgh, NY), Alison Fliegel (New Hyde Park, NY), and Kerri Kelty (Valley Stream, NY).
After a scoreless first half, the Hawks got their first tally when Kerri Kelty chipped in a cross from Alison Fliegel at 55:24.
Fliegel then scored on a 22-yard blast in the 87th minute that found the back of the net to round out the scoring.
New Paltz keeper Sarah Boccard (Washingtonville, NY) made 4 saves, to preserve the shutout.
New Paltz, 6-8-3, travels to Farmingdale on Saturday, October 28th for a 1:00pm contest.
