ITHACA, NY — The SUNY New Paltz Hawks field hockey team traveled to Cornell Stadium to take on the Wells Express Saturday night in a non-conference match-up. The Hawks advanced to 4-10 on the season with a 3-0 win.
New Paltz dominated the game outshooting Wells 25-1 and held the penalty corner advantage of 10-1. Senior Nicole Kovac picked up her fourth shutout of the season.
Jacqueline Sisco tallied the first goal of the game at 33:35 off an assist from Ashley Smith for the 1-0 lead which would carry to halftime. Kaitlin Ruggiero found the back of the cage at 57:51 on an unassisted mark.
Senior Justine Fairclough finished the scoring in the 62nd minute with the assist being credited to Kristen Bergmann.
