Tennis Doesn’t Allow One Point in 9-0 Shut Out Againt Wells

AURORA, NY — This afternoon, the SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team shut out Wells College in singles and doubles play. The Hawks did not allow one point scored against them.
First year Laura-Elizabeth Beirne (Shoreham-Wading River/Moriches) played her first collegiate match at first singles and won 6-0, 6-0. Senior Jennifer Larson (Port Jervis) won straight sets 6-0, 6-0 in number two singles. At number three singles Katherine Ketigian (Scared Heart Academy/Garden City) claimed both sets 6-0.
Kerri Serkes (Massapequa), Ashley Trifiletti (Rye Neck, Mamaroneck), and Lyndsey Lovinger (Miller Place) won 6-0, 6-0 in flight four, five and six respectively.
Dana Lim (Clarkstown South/New City) and Eri Yamakawa (Eastchester, NY) won 8-0 in first doubles as Beirne and Serkes paired up to claim second doubles, 8-0. The duo of Lovinger and Trifiletti garnered an 8-0 win at third doubles.
The Hawks will host their home opener on Friday, September 15th against Ramapo at 3:30 p.m.
