Three-Goal First Half Carries Hawks Past Ramapo

KINGSOTN, NY — The SUNY New Paltz field hockey team used a three-goal first half to defeat Ramapo College 4-0 this evening.

Junior forward Patricia Erikson (Massapequa Park, NY) put the Hawks on the board three minutes into the game. Erikson scored two goals on the night and junior forward Shannon Stokes (Accord, NY) added a goal and assist.

The Hawks outshot the Roadrunners 13-2 and recorded their third win of the season.

SUNY New Paltz, winners of three of their last four games, are now 4-7 on the year. The Hawks will look to tie the program record for wins in a season on Saturday when they host conference rival Oswego at 2:00 p.m. With a 2-1 record in league play, SUNY New Paltz is in second place in the SUNYAC.

Ramapo dropped to 5-6 with the loss.
