SUNY New Paltz Men’s Tennis Team Sweeps Kings Point

NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s tennis team cruised to a 7-0 win over Kings Point in its home opener this afternoon.

The Hawks, now 3-2, used a pair of 8-4 wins at first and second doubles, and an 8-0 win at number three, to sweep the competition. SUNY New Paltz also registered straight set victories in all six singles flights.

Junior Jason Letts (Plattsburgh, NY) improved to 5-0 at number six singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Paul Wolfinger.

Kings Point, who defeated St. Joseph’s — Long Island in its opener, is now 1-1.

SUNY New Paltz, playing the first of five consecutive home matches, will host Rutgers Newark next Saturday (Apr. 3) at 1:00 p.m.

Brad Breakstone (NP) defeated J.R. Guernsey (KP) 6-3, 6-1. Bobby Calise (NP) defeated Zishaan Raymond (KP) 6-1, 6-2. Brian Palmenteri (NP) defeated Justin Adams (KP) 6-4, 6-3. Josh Greenspan (NP) defeated Bryant Dean (KP) 6-1, 6-0. Scott Keicher (NP) defeated Will Rockwood (KP) 6-3, 6-0. Jason Letts (NP) defeated Paul Wolfinger (KP) 6-0, 6-0
