Potsdam Hands New Paltz Second Consecutive SUNYAC Loss

POTSDAM, NY — The SUNY Potsdam men’s basketball team handed the Hawks their second straight conference loss Friday night in Potsdam 82-63.

The Bears move to 5-1 in the SUNYAC and 11-3 overall while the Hawks drop to 3-10 and 1-4 in the conference.

Christian Turner (14), Jeff Brady (14), Russell Johnson (13), Kevin Richardson (12) and Jim Connelly (10) all were in doubles figures in points for the Bears who broke away in the second half after leading at the half by just four points 32-28.

Danny Goldberg led the Hawks with 15 points on the night going 3-for-5 from three-point range and Jonathan Towles added 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Hawks will look to get back into the win column tomorrow in Plattsburgh as they take on the Cards at 4:00 p.m.
