Indoor Track & Field Team Has Strong Showing at Hamilton Invitational

CLINTON, NY – — The SUNY New Paltz men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams returned to action this afternoon in meet hosted by Hamilton College in Clinton, New York.

In addition to the host Continentals, the non-team scoring meet also featured Cortland, Oswego, and Mohawk Valley Community College.

The Hawks came away with six first place finishes and two ECAC Qualifiers.

Leading the way was senior Andrea Drayss (Island Park, NY) who won the shot put with an ECAC qualifying throw of 11.55 meters.

Junior Adam Thyberg (Blue Point, NY) was first in the pole vault with an ECAC qualifying mark of 4.27 meters.

Junior Natasha Dudar (New Paltz, NY) won the long jump with a mark of 4.81 meters.

Freshman Musu Jackson-Buckner (Buffalo, NY) was first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.55.

Sophomore Josh Moore (Woodburne, NY) won the shot put with a throw of 13.74 meters.

Sophomore Scott Amato (Coxsackie, NY) registered a mark of 5.51 meters in the long jump to finish first.

Senior Jackie Goldstein (Port Jervis, NY) finished third in the 20-pound hammer throw and set a new school record with a mark of 9.20 meters. She also qualified for the conference championship with that peformance.

Sophomore Stephanie Ramsey (Shelton, CT) was second in the long jump with a SUNYAC qualifying mark of 4.67 meters.

Freshman Andrew Hunsinger (Queensbury, NY) ran a SUYNAC qualifying time of 6.91 in the 55-meters to finish third.

The meet was the first for the Hawks since competing at Williams College on December 6.

New Paltz will next compete at the Armory in New York City on January 24.
