37 New Paltz Student-Athletes Named to SUNYAC All-Academic List

NEW PALTZ, NY – — Thirty-seven SUNY New Paltz student-athletes distinguished themselves in the classroom during the fall semester by earning a spot on the SUNYAC All-Academic List.

The league office recognized the New Paltz fall sport student-athletes who achieved a minimum grade-point-average of 3.3 for the fall semester.

All seven of the New Paltz fall varsity sports were honored. The men’s and women’s cross country teams combined to place 12 on the list. The field hockey team garnered eight and the women’s volleyball team added six.

Both the men’s soccer and women’s tennis teams had four and the women’s soccer team accounted for three.

Among the 37 all-academic honorees, 17 also earned a spot on the Commissioner’s List. The Commissioner’s List recognizes student-athletes who attain a grade-point-average of 3.3 or higher for three semesters.

Five-student athletes also registered4.00 grade-point-averages for the fall semester.

In addition, 53 percent of the student-athletes at New Paltz finished the fall term with a grade-point-average of at least 3.0.
