Women’s Volleyball Goes 2-1 at Dominican Tournament

ORANGEBURG, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s volleyball team competed in a tournament hosted by Dominican College today. The Hawks went 2-1 to improve their record to 6-20 on the year. Junior setter Jennifer Hollis (Livingston, NJ) was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 6.4 assists per game.

In the first match against Dominican, the Hawks won in three games 30-27, 30-25, 30-28. Hollis had 29 assists and Jackie Goldstein (Port Jervis, NY) added 21 kills.

In the second match of the day, New Paltz fell to Molloy 19-30, 27-30, 20-30. Hollis had 13 assists and 10 digs to lead the Hawks.

The final match saw a thrilling five-game win by the Hawks over St. Thomas Aquinas 27-30, 31-29, 30-26, 22-30, 15-7. Hollis had 28 assists and eight digs while freshman Andrea Kaiser (Blue Point, NY) contributed 11 kills, and 19 digs.
