Buffalo State Defeats Hawks 3-1

BUFFALO – — Buffalo State scored three second half goals to defeat SUNY New Paltz 3-1 this afternoon.

Despite outshooting the Bengals 10-4 in the first half, the Hawks (2-8-1, 0-4-1)finally took a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute when Tim Van Wyen scored on a penalty kick.

Buffalo State got the equalizer on an unassisted goal by Dave Aselin in the 64th minute and then took the lead for good nine minutes later when Matt Romano set up Jon Lewis for what proved to be the game-winner.

The Bengals added more goal for good measure with 18 seconds remaining in the game to improve to 3-6-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the SUNYAC.
