Men 6th, Women 5th at Keene Invitational

KEENE, NH — The New Paltz men and women’s cross country teams took part in the Keene State Invitational in Keene, NH Saturday. The men finished 6th in the eight-team field and the women were 5th out of six teams. Keene State finished first for the men with 35 points and Dartmouth was first for the women with 33 points.

For the men, Dan Holton (Rhinebeck, NY) finished the five-mile race first for the Hawks in 34th place with a time of 27:49. Phil Goodwin (Rochester, NY) was two spots behind in 36th with a time of 27:54 and John Zarella (Mahopac, NY) was 39th coming in at 28:03.

Rebecca Demeri (Wantagh, NY) was the top finisher on the women’s side finishing the 5K course in 21st place (20:51). Janet Walsh (Baldwinsville, NY) was 26th coming in at 21:11 and Kate Choromanski (Shelton, CT) was 31st finishing with a time of 21:37.
