NEW PALTZ — Danielle Hendee mowed down the Hawks Tuesday, striking out eleven batters for Castleton en route to an 11-2 win. The loss drops the Hawks’ record to 1-17 on the year.
Tricia Cascio (Farmingville, NY) had three hits to lead the Hawks, including an RBI single, and Jessica Schropfer (Glen Oaks, NY) contributed with two hits, including an RBI double. Jen Varrone (New Paltz, NY) pitched all seven innings for New Paltz giving up eleven runs (seven unearned) on fifteen hits. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was called due to darkness.
New Paltz will play again Wednesday at Union at 3:00pm.
