Sharp Nets Six In Loss to Manhattanville

NEW PALTZ — New Paltz senior Katie Sharp (Mineola, NY) scored the first four goals of the game for her team and added two more in the second half in a 16-9 loss to Manhattanville Wednesday.

Sharp currently has 16 goals in seven games for the Hawks and leads New Paltz in scoring. Sharp has led the Hawks in scoring the previous two years as well, finishing with 30 goals in the 2000 season, and 31 in 2001. Sharp is narrowing in on the 100-point barrier, which she looks to break in the next few games. For her career, she now has 85 goals, 9 assists, and 94 points.

Megan Porter (Massapequa, NY) contributed two goals for the Hawks and Mary Warren (Mineola, NY) had one to round out the scoring. Goalkeeper Adrian Grasso (Oceanside, NY) made 24 saves in the match.

Women’s lacrosse takes to the field again Friday at Wells College starting at 4:00pm.
