Women’s Basketball Drops Two to Oswego and Geneseo

OSWEGO/GENESEO — The New Paltz women’s team lost conference games to Oswego and Geneseo this weekend to slip to 1-4 in the SUNYAC.

Against Oswego, the Hawks found themselves tied at fifty- one with the Lakers midway through the second half after trailing most of the game. Unfortunately, they never could get the lead falling 68-63. Freshman Tarah Norris (Westbrookville, NY) had a game-high 18 points followed by Silver Williams’ (Newburgh, NY) 15 and Kim Weigel’s (Whitestone, NY) 11.

Saturday simply was not the Hawks’ night. Against Geneseo, New Paltz fell behind early and never recovered. The Hawks shot just 28% from the field for the game. In the end the Knights walked away with an 86-49 win. Silver Williams was the high scorer for the Hawks with 18 points. Tarah Norris had 11 and Christine Gregory (Wallkill, NY) added 10.

The Hawks look to rebound from this weekend’s losses when they travel to Utica/Rome Tuesday night.
