Baseball Team Rebounds Against Mary Washington

FREDERICKSBURG, VA. — SUNY New Paltz avenged yesterday’s loss to Mary Washington with an 8-6 win on Saturday in Virginia.

Eric Kantner scattered 11 hits over seven innings and struck out six for his first victory of the season. John Buonamano and Brian Clarke (two doubles, four RBI) each had three hits to once again lead the Hawk offense, while Jeff Lackaye added two hits and two runs scored.

Jeff Bond and Steve Dermentzis (save) combined to hold Mary Washington (7-1) hitless and scoreless over the final two innings.

New Paltz (1-1) plays at St. Mary’s College of Maryland tomorrow before heading home.
