New Paltz Defeats D’Youville

NEW PALTZ — It took all of five games, but SUNY New Paltz won its second straight men’s volleyball match, 30-28, 25-30, 26-30, 30-26, 17-15, over D’Youville at Elting Gymnasium on Sunday.

Senior setter Robert Manosca (34 assists, 15 kills, four blocks) surpassed 3,500 career assists in the third game. He now has 3,518 assists for his stellar Hawk career.

Other contributors for New Paltz included Chris Wright (19 kills, five blocks), Beau Warren (27 assists, 11 kills, four blocks), Jason Bateman (10 kills, eight digs) and Sean Riley (nine kills, seven blocks).

The (16-4) Hawks, which are ranked fifth nationally, will play at Springfield College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
