Women’s Tennis Team Loses At Brockport

BROCKPORT — Goshen product Becky Sparacin and Chatham native Rachel Murray both won for the second straight day for SUNY New Paltz, which lost, 6-3, to unbeaten SUNY Brockport in women’s tennis on Saturday afternoon.

Sparacin, who teamed with Murray for a second doubles win yesterday at Geneseo, won at first singles over Brockport’s Amy Orapello, 6-4, 7-6, while Murray bested the (3-0) Golden Eagles’ Nancy Matusiak, 7-5, 6-4, at fourth singles.

The team of Rebecca Billow and Allison Schwille earned New Paltz’s other match point with a 8-3 win over Mary Aglietti and Patty Dromms at third doubles.

New Paltz (0-2) will face its third straight SUNYAC team when it plays at Oneonta on Thursday at 4 p.m.
