Women’s Soccer Prevails In Close Contest

FREDONIA — Therese Nordlund scored on an assist from team-leading scorer Alesha Peimer in the 87th minute, as New Paltz edged Fredonia 1-0 in women’s soccer on Friday afternoon.

Peimer now has 13 points (six goals, one assist) in the Hawks’ first 11 games. New Paltz (6-4-1 overall, 3-1-1 SUNYAC) broke a four-game scoreless streak and a two-game losing streak in collecting the victory on the front end of a two-game SUNYAC road trip.

New Paltz will try to make it two straight wins with a match at Buffalo State tomorrow at 1 p.m.
