Men’s Soccer Loses To Bengals

NEW PALTZ — Mike Rudney scored two breakaway goals and Rony Suazo had two assists to help lead Buffalo State past New Paltz, 2-0, in a men’s soccer match on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.

Rudney’s first goal came midway through the first half, and then late in the contest he added an insurance goal. The (3-6-0 overall, 2-2-0 SUNYAC) Bengals have now won two straight SUNYAC matches.

Kevin Smith made four saves in the loss for the Hawks, who outshot Buffalo State 16-5 in the contest and whose record falls to 1-9-2 (1-4-1 SUNYAC) this season. Bengal goalkeeper Chris Keem, meanwhile, made five saves to preserve the shutout, Buffalo State’s second straight.
