Women’s Tennis Loses To N.Y.U.

NEW PALTZ — Barbara Slovak won at second singles and the team of Allison Schwille and Rebecca Kramer took third doubles, but New Paltz lost to New York University, 7-2, in women’s tennis on Sunday afternoon at New Paltz’s lower courts.

Slovak was up 4-1 in the third set of a 1-1 match when the Violets’ Katie Kollar was forced to retire due to a back injury. Schwille and Kramer, meanwhile, beat the team of Aubrey Villalobos and April Guidone, 8-6, in their doubles match.

New Paltz hosts Western Connecticut State on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
