Women’s Soccer Defeats Utica/Rome

NEW PALTZ — Alesha Peimer had two goals and an assist to help lead New Paltz past Utica/Rome, 4-0, in SUNYAC women’s soccer on Wednesday afternoon.

Peimer has now tallied five goals and three assists over her last two games. Therese Nordlund and Jessica Nadolny also scored for the (10-6-1 overall, 6-2-1 SUNYAC) Hawks, who remain in third place in the SUNYAC standings.

New Paltz outshot the Wildcats in the contest, 28-6, including a 14-3 advantage in the second half. Jennifer Rosengart made 13 saves in goal for Utica/Rome (3-9-1 overall, 1-7-1 SUNYAC), while Laura Neander stopped six shots for her eighth shutout.

New Paltz, which has won three straight, including two straight SUNYAC matches, plays at the Stevens Institute of Technology at noon on Saturday.
