Women’s Soccer Overmatches C.C.N.Y.

MANHATTAN — Alesha Peimer scored three goals, Adrienne Rapin had two goals and four others had one goal apiece, as SUNY New Paltz breezed past the City College of New York, 9-0, in women’s soccer on Tuesday afternoon.

New Paltz peppered C.C.N.Y. goalkeeper Kelly Baergia with 41 shots, while on the other side of the ball, the tandem of Laura Neander and Alex Dorman were never tested.

And it was Neander who had New Paltz’s seventh goal, after being moved into the field in the second half. Kathryn Bart, Kim Lipiro and Jessica Nadolny had the (9-6-1) Hawks other goals.

New Paltz, which has now won two games in a row and currently occupies third place in the SUNYAC standings, continues its quest for a playoff berth with a home game against SUNY Utica/Rome tomorrow at 4 p.m.
