Women’s Soccer Wins Again
BUFFALO — Jessica Nadolny scored the game-winning goal 21 minutes into the first half and Kathryn Bart added an insurance goal seven minutes after halftime to help lead New Paltz past Buffalo State, 2-0, in SUNYAC women’s soccer on Saturday afternoon.
With its second-straight victory, New Paltz (7-4-1) matches last year’s win total and continues its best start ever. The Hawks also improve their SUNYAC record to 4-1-1, to stay in the thick of the SUNYAC playoff hunt. The top four teams at the end of the regular season will qualify for the SUNYAC Soccer Tournament, which will be held on October 29-30 and hosted by the first-place team.
New Paltz outshot the Bengals in the contest 24-10, including a holding a 15-4 advantage in the second half. Hawk goalkeeper Laura Neander needed to make just two saves to collect her seventh shutout of the season.
The Hawks return home to host Rensselaer at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Alumni Field.
