Women’s Basketball Win Moves Hawks Into Sixth Place Tie
FREDONIA — SUNY New Paltz rebounded from yesterday’s disappointing loss at Buffalo State to defeat Fredonia for the second time this season, 54-46, on Saturday afternoon at Steele Hall.
Three Hawk players – Britni Bishop (game-high 17 points), Silver Williams (12), and Zebi Williams (11) – scored in double figures to help New Paltz (9-9 overall, 7-8 SUNYAC) even its overall record, and move into a three-way tie with idle Brockport and Plattsburgh for sixth place in the SUNYAC standings. Bishop also added six assists, five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Renee Harpster had 17 points and five steals for the (10-8 overall, 7-7 SUNYAC) Blue Devils, which remain just ahead of the Hawks in fifth place.
