Hawks Fall In Men’s Basketball Opener
MAHWAH, NJ — Yeshiva shot a remarkable 58 percent en route to a 90-74 men’s basketball win over New Paltz in the semifinals of the Ramapo College Roadrunner Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday night in Mahwah.
Conversely, the (0-1) Hawks connected on a very respectable 46 percent from the field, and had three players – Dave Ott (14 points), Matt Winter (11) and Robert Jones (10) – score in double figures.
Yossy Gev (13 rebounds, five assists, five steals) led all scorers with 25 points for Yeshiva (1-0), which had five players in double figures. New Paltz will play Pratt (1-2), which was blown out by the host Roadrunners, 102-40, earlier on Saturday, in Sunday’s 2 p.m. consolation final.
