Lecture on Philosophy of Religion to be Held at SUNY New Paltz
NEW PALTZ — On Thursday, April 13, the Department of Philosophy at SUNY New Paltz will welcome Edward Wierenga, professor of religion and classics at the University of Rochester. He will lecture on the philosophy of religion, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Honors Center, College Hall H-111.
Wierenga’s presentation, “Timelessness Out of Mind: On the Alleged Incoherence of Divine Timelessness,” will address and challenge recent objections to the doctrine of divine timelessness.
Wierenga is the author of a book titled The Nature of God: An Inquiry into Divine Attributes (Cornell University Press, 1989), as well as numerous articles on the philosophy of religion.
This event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the SUNY New Paltz Foundation and the Philosophy Club, a member of the Student Association.
