Save the date for the 3rd annual campus-wide training days on Jan. 13 and 14, 2022

SUNY New Paltz will again offer campus-wide professional development training for employees on Jan. 13 & 14, 2022, with a diverse selection of one-hour sessions presented each day at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. All training sessions will be fully virtual.

These trainings are not mandatory, but they offer a great opportunity to share work and expertise available right here on campus.

While the trainings are still a couple months away, members of our community can act now to make them successful. There are two ways to contribute:

1) Sign up to give a training! If you have knowledge to share and time to give, whether as an individual or a group presenter, this is a great opportunity to connect with colleagues.

Please use this link to sign up to give a training.

2) Let us know what kinds of trainings you would find useful! We also have a form set up where members of our community can request topics and skills that they’d like to see included on our list of offerings.

Please use this link to request a training topic.

We hope to hear from you soon – these forms will close on Monday, Nov. 29.

About January Trainings at SUNY New Paltz

The January training days were initiated in 2020 to create focus for important conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion among faculty and staff at all levels of the institution.

Our secondary goal for this College-wide initiative was to create opportunities for professional development built around existing strengths and expertise within our community. Thanks to their engagement, we were able to offer 27 sessions in the first year of the program, and increased that number to 30 sessions in the second year.

We hope to build on the momentum of the last two years to support more conversations and professional development in the third year of this initiative.

Please stay tuned for more details in the Daily Digest in early December, including full descriptions of offered trainings and sign-up links to participate. Faculty and staff will be able to register for each session they are interested in on a first-come, first-served basis.
