Women’s Soccer Beats Blue Knights
NEW PALTZ — Kathryn Bart’s blast past Mount St. Mary goalkeeper Jillian DiIenno with 7:26 remaining broke a 1-1 tie and gave SUNY New Paltz a 2-1 women’s soccer win on Monday afternoon.
Michele Branca also scored for New Paltz (4-13), which has won three of its last four matches.
Gina Walsh tied the score for the (6-11-1) Blue Knights at the 64:39 mark. DiIenno made 13 saves to keep Mount St. Mary, which was outshot 17-6 in the contest, close.
New Paltz returns to action at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Manhattanville.
