Rochester’s Goodwin Named Men’s Cross Country MVP
NEW PALTZ, NY — Rochester’s Phil Goodwin was named the men’s cross country team’s Most Valuable Runner at the SUNY New Paltz Athletic Banquet on May 7th.
Goodwin, a senior, was earned all-conference status for the fourth time in his career at the 2002 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Cross Country Championships.
He completed this year’s five-mile race in 26:51.61 to earn second team All-SUNYAC honors. Goodwin was also on the second-team his freshman year. He finished 5th as a junior and sixth as a sophomore to earn first-team all-conference accolades.
This year’s SUNY New Paltz men’s cross country team finished fourth at the SUNYAC Championships among 10 teams with 111 points.
