Goldstein Takes Team MVP Honors
NEW PALTZ, NY — Jackie Goldstein was named MVP of the women’s volleyball team at the SUNY New Paltz Athletic Banquet May 7th.
Goldstein, a senior, played in 37 of the Hawks’ 38 matches and averaged 3.0 kills, and 0.63 blocks per game to go along with a .283 hitting percentage. In league play, Goldstein was even more impressive averaging 3.5 kills per game with a .321 hitting percentage.
Goldstein was named to all-tournament teams at the Skidmore Early Bird Invitational, the NYU Invitational, the Oswego Invitational, and at the conclusion of the season, was named Co-Most Valuable Player in the East division of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
The women’s volleyball team was 14-24 overall and 5-5 in the SUNYAC under first-year head coach Matt Giufre this season.
