Men’s Swimming and Diving Takes 4th at RPI

TROY, NY — Men’s swimming and diving returned from their training trip to Florida with a 4th place finish at the Kemp Invitational at RPI. It was the first meet for the men’s team since late November. New Paltz finished with 298 points behind Ithaca (640), RPI (432), and LeMoyne (350).

Freshman Kent Yeung (Flushing, NY) turned in impressive performances in the 200 individual medley and the 100 freestyle taking second place in both events. Other highlights included a sixth place finish for freshman Chris Farrell (Sparkill, NY) in the 500 freestyle and a fifth place finish for junior Jon Amoia (Williamsville, NY) in the 200 breaststroke. The Hawks’ 400 medley relay team also placed well finishing 3rd with a time of 3:46.82.

The men’s swimming and diving team will be in action again Wednesday January 23rd at Vassar.
