Men’s Basketball Still Searching for First Conference Win
OSWEGO/GENESEO — The New Paltz men’s basketball team was beaten twice this weekend in SUNYAC play by Oswego and Geneseo to slip to 0- 5.
Against Oswego, the Hawks took the Lakers down to the wire losing by just two points 71-69. Pat Stirk (Milford, CT) led New Paltz with 20 points. Ben Davey (Andover, NJ) and Mike Cutler (Amherst, MA) had 13 points apiece and Steve Tobitsch (New Canaan, CT) added 12.
Saturday, Ben Davey led the charge against Geneseo with a game-high 25 points. The Hawks kept the game close throughout the entirety of the game but the Blue Knights pulled away in the final few minutes for the 86-77 victory. Dom Fornabaio (Wappingers Falls, NY) added 13 points and Birchell Glenn (Queens, NY) had 12 for New Paltz.
The Hawks will return to action Tuesday night at Utica/Rome starting at 8:00 pm.
