EOP to honor its best and brightest at its 20th annual XAE induction

The Educational Opportunity Program at the State University of New York New Paltz will host the Chi Alpha Epsilon (XAE) Induction Ceremony for its 20th year, which will recognize the academic achievements of 23 EOP undergraduates. The ceremony will take place on May 1 at 3 p.m. in Lecture Center 100.

To mark a milestone year in this annual campus tradition, SUNY New Paltz President Darrell P. Wheeler will deliver the keynote address. Wheeler will also be inducted as an honorary member of XAE.

This year’s ceremony will also recognize 20 students that have earned an upgrade distinction.  These students continue to excel academically and deserve recognition.

Chi Alpha Epsilon was formed in 1989 as a national honor society recognizing the academic achievements of students admitted to colleges and universities through opportunity programs. The society has grown to include more than 125 chapters in the years since.

New Paltz chartered the Beta Omicron Chapter of the XAE and inducted its first members in 2003. It bears the distinction of having inducted the largest number of students for a chartering induction.
