College invites alumni to celebrate legacy families at SUNY New Paltz this fall

This fall, the annual Generations Pinning Ceremony will invite alumni to present SUNY New Paltz students within their families with a pin as a symbolic way of passing down their New Paltz pride.

The event will be held on Oct. 1, 2022, during Family Weekend on campus.

“It’s important to recognize the importance of a college choice becoming a family tradition,” said Director for Alumni Relations Chris Brown ’85 (Business Administration). “This event allows for us to celebrate the many families who pass down their love for New Paltz from one generation to another.”

Last year, more than 50 alumni and their families were in attendance to celebrate, with more than 12 pins placed on second-, third-, and fourth-generation students. Read more about family Connections at the College in New Paltz Magazine.
