‘Indulge Your Senses: Scaling Intimacy in a Digital World’ event with Michael Dorf, March 28

The SUNY New Paltz Distinguished Speaker Series proudly presents an evening with Michael Dorf, founder and CEO of City Winery, on Monday, March 28, 2021.

Dorf’s talk, “Indulge Your Senses: Scaling Intimacy in a Digital World,” promises to offer gripping stories and hard-earned business lessons from the creator of two iconic NYC music venues, the Knitting Factory and City Winery, located in seven major cities across the United States and the Hudson Valley.

His insights come with a contrarian twist: Even as technology becomes more deeply woven into our lives, the key to success is still found in satisfying people’s yearning for live human interaction.

This hybrid event will be held in Lecture Center room 100 on campus and can also be attended virtually. All are welcome to attend, and pre-registration is required using this link. A WebEx link will also be sent to those who register for the virtual presentation.

General admission is complimentary, with a $10 suggested donation to the SUNY New Paltz Foundation, which supports future educational programs for our students. As always, New Paltz students may attend this Distinguished Speaker Series event free of charge.

All in-person attendees will receive a complimentary autographed copy of “Indulge Your Senses: Scaling Intimacy in a Digital World” at a book signing following the event.

About the SUNY New Paltz Distinguished Speaker Series

Now in its 14th year, the Distinguished Speaker Series connects the College’s alumni, community members, faculty, staff, students and their families with well-known authors, policymakers, scientists, media experts, business leaders and other luminaries. The Distinguished Speaker Series is made possible by the SUNY New Paltz Foundation. SUNY New Paltz received a generous gift from a private donor to initially underwrite a portion of this signature campus program.
