The Town and the Village of New Paltz are reminding the community that it is illegal to park your vehicle on any shoulder, street or roadway in New Paltz after two inches of snow accumulation.
The New Paltz Police Department is authorized to provide for the removal and storage of motor vehicles when a motor vehicle impairs, impedes or obstructs emergency or rescue operations or snow removal. The minimum fee for towing under these circumstances will be $200.00.
SUNY New Paltz students and employees should be aware of this local law and plan ahead when snow is in the forecast, to avoid getting towed and help ensure safe and smooth winter storm cleanup in the village.
