Swimming Third After Second Day
The SUNY New Paltz swimming team remained third after the second day of the ECAC’s. The women’s team is in third place with 708 points and the men’s team trails third place Keene State by 28 points with 599 points.
On the women’s side in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the team of Katina Lown, Marissa Morris, Becky Baker and Allison Wells finished third with a time of 1:40.39. Yuka Suzuka won the 100 Yard Backstroke in a time of 1:00.22 and Morris and Jessica Lester touched in fourth and sixth respectively in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Morris finished with a time of 1:55.44 and Lester finished at 1:57.40. Baker won the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:07.07 to pace the Hawks.
On the men’s side, the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Billy Papetti,Corey Lomas, Pat Rathbun and Steve Cozzolongo finished fourth with a time of 1:28.79. Cozzolongo won the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 52.77 and teammate Jesse Sweeney touched in at 54:02 for fourth place.
