Swimming Third Place after First Day of ECAC’s

The New Paltz men’s and women’s swimming team completed the first day at ECAC’s. The women’s team is in second place with 148 points. The men’s team is in seventh place with 122 points. In the combined teams ranking, New Paltz is at third place with 270 points.

On the women’s side, the relay team of Yuka Suzuka, Becky Baker, Kate Genovese, and Allison Wells won the 200 Yard Medley touching in at 1:50.67. Jessica Lester finished second in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with a time of 17:44.12, teammate Melinda Pullen finished in fourth right behind her with a time of 18:06.91.

On the men’s side, the relay team of Steve Cozzolongo, Rob Webb, Jeremy Borrelli, and Billy Papetti finished fourth in the 200 Yard Medley touching in at 1:37.76. In the 1650 Yard Freestyle Pete Nastasi finished fourth touching in at 16:38.15, teammate Nick Dubois finished seventh with a time of 17:10.05.

The Hawks return to the pool tomorrow for the second day of ECAC’s.
